| DEA2004, Call for papers (Submission Deadline 30th April 2004) | ||||||||||||
As an individual with research interests in the field of efficiency and productivity analysis we would like to invite you to take part in the 4th International Symposium of Data Envelopment Analysis; which will take place at Aston Business School, Aston University, Birmingham, UK, on 5th and 6th September 2004. Theoretical and empirical papers on Data Envelopment Analysis and the related fields of Econometric Methods for Efficiency and Productivity analysis, including Stochastic Frontier Analysis, are welcome. Contributions from both the academic and the non-academic communities are encouraged. Papers submitted will be vetted by the organising committee. Accepted papers will have the opportunity to be published in the Symposium Proceedings. A special issue of the Journal of Productivity Analysis covering papers presented at the Symposium will also be published. We especially welcome for this Special Issue papers on applications of DEA and econometric methods especially those which offer a new insight into the workings of the area of application or offer new methodological advances or adaptations of existing models motivated by the application. We have organised two special features for those relatively new to research and getting their papers published in referred journals. Firstly, there will be an informal session for them to present their full paper or to discuss papers in progress. PhD students may also find this session a good venue to present their work so far since there will be a core of senior researchers committing to attending this session as discussants. Secondly a number of journal editors including
will be in panel discussion to offer advice on getting your papers published. If you are interested in attending the conference and making a presentation, please submit the abstract at http://www.DEAzone.com/DEA2004 or email a brief outline of your proposed talk (Abstract) not later than 30th April 2004 to: dea2004@deazone.com. Please indicate if you would wish to submit this paper or research findings within the session for those relatively new to research. If so a full paper or 20-page summary of the work in progress will need to be submitted one month before the conference to the discussant. Information
about the conference can be found on http://www.DEAzone.com/DEA2004.
We look forward to seeing you at the Symposium. Organising Committee:
