in Barcelona, July 14-17, 1997.

DEAPM - the EURO
Data Envelopment Analysis and Performance Measurement Working Group
- organised a EURO Summer Institute (ESI) in DEA to encourage good social
and working relationships among promising young (typically aged 25-35)
DEA researcher in Europe. The main purpose of an ESI was to establish
a network of outstanding DEA people who will continue to work together
in the future.
The ESI were taken
between 16 and 26 August 1998 at the University of Warwick.
The cost of the
stay at the ESI (accommodation, meals, social activities, scientific
programs) was covered by EURO, the UK OR Society, and other sponsors

at Copenhagen, 6EWPE, October 1999
|
Next Euro DEAPM seminar
will take place in Cpenhagen, October 1999. Please confirm your participation
and if you would like to have a
presentation, a poster, or both. Would you please submit at your earliest
convenience and not later than September 10th the title and abstract
(not longer than 200 words) of your presentation/poster to Katrin Allen
(allen@lut.rwth-aachen.de). Furthermore,
please indicate if you want to join the get-together- dinner on Wednesday
evening.
Also, if you want to have a handout of your paper, slides, poster etc.
distributed for other participants in the seminar day, please send me
a copy in a standard format or by mail.
There is no seminar fee, but be prepared to cover the costs of all meals,
at affordable prices. The seminar organisers do not have resources to
do any hotel reservations, we advise you to e.g. use the hotels suggested
by the organisers of the EWEPA. Also, we would like to remind you that
although organised in conjuction, EWEPA and DEAPM seminar day are separate
events. So please remember also to register to EWEPA if you are planning
to
participate!

and emailed to all participants.

at New York, October 2000 |
There will be an informal post-conference workshop after
North Americam Workshop. This will be an opportunity to present papers
in depth or to discuss papers in progress. PhD students requesting feedback
will find the post-conference session a good venue to present their
work since there will be a core of senior researchers (scientific committee,
keynote speakers and others) committing to attending the post-conference

Euro Working Group DEAPM will hold its business meeting
on September 26th, 2001, in conjunction with the 7th European Workshop
on Productivity and Efficiency Analysis. Agenda will be selection of
coordinators and organizing committee for the next two years. Those

| Dear
DEAPM members,
This year's North American Productivity Workshop (NAPW2)
will take place at Union College in Schenectady, New York, USA, June 20-22,
2002 (http://idol.union.edu/~napw).
There will be an informal pre-conference workshop on June
19. This workshop will continue the tradition of pre- and post-conference
workshops held in conjunctions with the previous North-America productivity
workshop and with the two previous European Workshops of Efficiency and
Productivity Analysis. EURO working group DEAPM has been involved in organizing
these pre- and post-conference workshops since the beginning.
The main purpose of these workshops is to provide graduate
students with an opportunity to present papers and to discuss work in
progress. Several senior scholars will be participating in the pre-conference
sessions and providing valuable feedback to the students. There will also
be panel discussions and/or special presentations covering topics that
are of interest to graduate students. In addition, all pre-conference
workshop participants are welcome to participate in the poster session
of the main workshop as well.
Based on the experience from the previous years, this
is an opportunity not to be missed for all graduate students in our area!
Graduate students interested in participating into the
pre-conference workshop should register via the NAPW website. The registration
deadline is Feb 1. All graduate students are eligible for the reduced
registration rate and for inexpensive dormitory accommodations. In addition,
modest travel grants are expected to be available for graduate students
outside of North America. (See the abstract submission form in http://idol.union.edu/~napw.)

to anyone who might be interested.
